Profiting from poverty...
"An Initial Public offer(IPO) by SKS Microfinance Ltd. is likely to set the stage for more such offers in the world's largest microlending market, but it has also sparked the debate on the ethics of profiting from the poor.IPO has been expected to raise around $250-$350 million for SKS and private equity. It has drawn keen intrest from countries like Bangladesh, Mexico and South America but on the other hand Microfinance pioneer and Nobel Laureate, Dr. Mohd. Yunus had raised several concerns over the IPO. Many more Microfinance Instituitions(MFIs) will be following the same trend. So what is your opinion about this trend?.."

Ayodhya - An End or A New Beginning
"Ayodhya verdict is finally out (Ah!!!! what a relief)....... All the parties got 1/3rd of the land.... good job NCP, you really twisted the jurisdiction arm well.... But we ask you (future managers, generation next, hope of our country), does it or rather should it really affect us. Do we really care whether a temple is build or a mosque? How does this decision effect you and me?"

Commonwealth Games: the biggest Event Management Disaster of all time?
The Commonwealth games, 2010 were supposed to be the occasion for India to showcase its ever growing stature amongst the world's elite economies. These Games were to bear testimony to the belief that India has the capability to host sporting events of mammoth proportions with consummate ease. The task in front of us was clear cut: to be at least equal to, if not better than, Beijing 2008.
Currently, the Games are facing a crisis. There are allegations of massive corruption and favoritism on the organizers. The general public is appalled at the situation, while politicians are using this fiasco to corner the UPA. Amidst all this the nation's pride suffers.
What really went wrong with the Commonwealth Games 2010? Is it just poor planning and rampant corruption, or is it a mirror of the Indian Laissez Faire attitude towards things? Answer in less than 350 words, before 22nd August, 23:59:59, and give your voice a platform at iOpine.

The last roar of the Gujarat Lion?
Gujarat CM Narendra Modi termed the CBI demand for shifting the Sohrabuddin case out of the state an insult to Gujarat's judicial system that "will not be tolerated any longer". He alleged that the Centre was treating Gujarat as an enemy territory and not as a part of the Indian Union. At the same time he is trying to save his reputation, when Congress is pointing fingers at him for the whole fiasco.
Is this the last arrow from the CM to save his political dominance? Is this the beginning of the end of a great political era, which might change the face of Gujarat’s politics?
