"Life is a lemon and I want my money back".
ReplyDeleteYes!i want my money back!!Nothing ever goes right, and thats the only cetainty! What we promise ourselves for our future,we seldom get.Rather, most of the times, its the exact opposite!Life, this ever-phasing life, is a "one big" Paradox. Its always taking you to places, you never want to go to;always putting you in situations, you despise the most;always causing problems;the closer you think you are to your aspirations, the further you get!!You Want something and you get everything but that thing !!Paradox!!
Look at it this way.You go to a second-hand "car bazaar" .You find the car of your dreams.A sleak ,stylish, beautiful Mercedes!!"WoW!!"You say. Love at first sight. You take out "15 Lakhs" n u buy the Beauty! It's yours!"Yes!My first Mercedes!Woohoo!".You slowly put the keys and turn on the ignition, it doesn't start. You try again,it doesnt start! You get out and you lift the hood.Bang!!Your dreams are shattered. There's no engine!!haha!!You've been Bamboozled! What do you do now??!! You ask for your money back!! "I want my money back!!This car is junk,A white-lie !" That's exactly how life is "A white-lie"! It's a Lemon and I want my money back!!
Aspirations,Friends,Love,Family,Happiness,Sorrow,Hate,Satisfaction nothing is guaranteed! The only permanent thing in life, is Change. Every moment ,You try an align yourself towards a change ,at that very moment, another occurs and you have to Re-align.The process is never ending.
You need your money back?!! Well, You will have to take it back yourself.Take control instead of being controlled.Be the Master of yourself,of your fate.Always stay one step ahead of life,Change faster than change itself,Never give up,Keep going,Keep trying,Always come out on top,Never be satiated,Don't lose the hunger of getting more. This life is a never ending struggle,a race in which the finish line is "happiness". Always stay head to head with your life, with the adverse situations you face ;And, a day will come when you would ultimately Win! You would be the master of your Fate! that would be the day when ,you would truly be worthy of asking your money back, and you would get much more than just "your money" back!

Imagine a life full of sweetness. Preferable to you with no sign of struggles not even close to you.
ReplyDeleteWith all the things in control makes you think that power is in your own hands. It’s like a dream come true. You can do whatever you want but none of your actions will put you in trouble. There are no mistakes to be made in your world. An utopian world, seems quite attractive enough. Desperate to have it? Is that so? Think again.
You will get bored at some point of your life. That threshold level will force you to accept challenges in life. Without lemons you may not know the importance of honey in your life. Lemons may be sour but it spices up your life. It teaches you the meaning of the happiness that you have won by facing the battles of your life.
“The Pursuit of Happyness” is the legendary movie which is quintessential of how to deal with lemons in your life. It’s about the palpable fear that Chris Gardner experiences, when he gets disheartened with the increasing failures in his life, the suffering which exacerbates him, the circumference of hopelessness with every door closed around him.
But the moment when he squeezes out lemons from his life, that indelible accomplishment cannot be described in words.
Taste the lemons, you will get your money back.
Life is full of problems, but how we approach those problems often determines whether we’re happy or miserable. “Problems are opportunities in disguise” they say. If we approach problems with a healthy attitude, we realize that problems are opportunities to learn about others and ourselves. They enable us to live a happier and more fulfilling life.
ReplyDeleteI think it’s important to remember that no matter how big a problem is, it’s still an opportunity.Whatever kind of situation we face, problems give us a chance to learn and grow, both physically and mentally.
Most of us want more out of life. This is not to say that you’re unhappy with what you have. Indeed, the secret of happiness is “wantwhat you already have”. But that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t constantly strive to scale greater heights of happiness and success because there is no standing still in life. Indeed, there are no limits to where we can go in life other than those that are self-imposed in our minds.
Our life is full of difficulties and problems and itallows us to take lessons from our mistakes and life experiences. But sometimes, we can avoid mistakes and disappointments by acceptance, advice and help of others.
When we sit around with family, the discussion invariably turns to the past.
Thoughoften past events are recalled with rose-tinted glasses that make those events seem so much better than anything happening in the present.
Why is it that the past seems better than the present?
One possibility may be that people experience emotions from the past more strongly than emotions in the present which makes the past seem more intense than the present.
The other possibility might be that they point out that when people make judgments about things, they usually do it in relation to something else. For example, when they say that a concert is excellent, they mean that it is better than all the concerts they have seen up to that point.
Experience from practice shows that it's useless indulging in the HAPPINESS of the past.
Life is lemon and I want my money back!!! Truly said. Everybody’s expectations are different in their own terms with subject to the particular moment or one can say circumstances. Circumstances drives person make a meaningful action with referring past actions and seeing future implication for the particular moment.
ReplyDeleteMany a times we are hoping for mango (sweet) and end up with lemon (spicy). This signifies that we are still not good enough for achieving the thing we aspire for but as someone said “Life doesn’t offer security , it offers only opportunity” through providing something we have think of as tertiary priority or choosing something in worst cum worst circumstances(that’s what is pay back) . It all starts when you communicate with world and be part of active competition although the level at what you are is not enough for getting it but after getting lemon. As we are still asking to pay back my money or effort although we know that we would not get the full money paid but whatever it may come is welcome.
Here, I am assuming as everybody will not get what they aspire for. Just think of many middlecalss mumbaikars are aspiring for living southern part of Mumbai and many of those end up with one BHK (Bedroom, Hall and Kitchen) in central and other part of Mumbai. They have put on their best effort starting from beginning of their carrier for achieving this materialistic long cherished dream. One fine day at the end of their life they feel the same (lemon) and seeking his money in terms of effort or investment of time back. In actual, they must be thinking off getting the life back to the past and give another chance to prove themselves.
Everyone has his/her own sweet and spicy memory (assume 50-50%). One need to appreciate sweet memory and learn from the spicy memory for not let happen in future. This will enable one to reduce spicy memory and sweeten one’s future. This further depends on how mentally and spiritually strong one is. As this is very idle case and in actual everybody pursuit for materialistic happiness and after not getting it one seeking for money back.
Life is both lemon and sweet and I don’t want my money back. Because if I do ask for my money back I am surrendering myself to the vagaries of life. Life gives us challenges, in which are hidden opportunities, facing which one must not give up. There may be success and failures; in success (or to put it in context- sweet times) I must not be so hubristic that I forget that everything which goes up has to come down one day or the other. In failures(or to put it in context- lemon times) I must not ask for my money back, by doing that I am accepting the best possible route is to exit by asking money back. Instead lessons need to be learned from these lemony times and those lessons be incorporated in our life.
ReplyDeleteIf one develops a habit of every now and then asking its money back this will instill a belief in oneself that there is always a ‘safe-route’ possible. One will always feel oneself in our ‘comfort-zone’, because risk taking habit will be subdued. If one wishes to grow in this so dynamic ever changing world then ‘calculated risk’ taking is an integral part of it. With these calculated risks, if taken, one may win or lose, but we are rest assured that one may learn something whatever may be the outcome. ‘Learning’ is a part of personality building and an integral part of Individuality. By asking my money back I am affirming that I do not want to learn more and I am content with whatever I possess.
It is a human nature in which we cherish and not feel complacent in sweet times but if a lemon moment (just a moment not a time) comes in our life we adopt a safest approach of shielding ourselves. At this moment neither do we look inwards in ourselves and search for reasons nor we want to see outwards, the only approach one adopts to get out of this lemony moment quagmire is ‘however possible’ at ‘whichever cost’, ‘doing whatsoever’. Life is a learning process.
The quotation “Back out of hell, back into hell” perfectly forms the firm foundation to this topic.
ReplyDeleteLife is a paradox & one of extreme contrasts for everyone. What one wishes and what one does –there is a big difference in these two aspects.
It all begins when one starts his life in a school where one spends the formative years of his life. One learns good virtues through his moral science classes and once he gets of the school he unlearns all these virtues as he realizes that these virtues are applicable in a utopian world. These shifts of thoughts are eventually realized in his college life where one gets a real feel of the world that is in store for everyone.
Life is one big Bollywood movie for everyone where there is a Shakespearean Tragedy of “Iliad” at one instant, Romance of “Romeo & Juliet” at other instant & Comical sense of “Hera Pheri” at the last instant. Eventually one realizes that everything is rubbish stuff & decides to live life the way the he wants.
The Politicians with all the money & support form the rules and control poor consumers and thus control us as a society. But with elections in the near future there is a role reversal and the poor society doesn’t realize this and enjoys being exploited and crib exploitation.
Eventually as a consumerist society built on capitalist ideals, we live our life to the substandard and force on us things that we don’t need.
“Is this the Life that we were set to live by the Almighty”?
These instances raise serious questions about our existence, dreams & aspirations & the flawed approach we follow.
With this I would truly say “Life is a lemon & I want my money back”

Life is an irony. It will let you fall one day, And help you up the next. The trick is to "Fall down seven times get back up eight", That’s an old Chinese proverb. It just says the only mistake you can make is after failing not getting back up and trying again.
ReplyDeleteIn the race of life, there are winners. Not any losers. If you have survived in this world that makes you a winner. You must stare life in the face and embrace it. Just be careful what you wish for, when you get you just may wish you were still wishing for it. You maybe surprised at what you get.so, When life gives you lemons, collect them, one day life will stop and u would have the most lemons ever.
”life is a lemon and I don’t want my money back”.
A different angle,“Life is a lemon”-my grudge is not with life but with those who try to control my life-those in power and those who tell what to do,what not. I blatantly attack politicians and those that fund them and prey on us poor consumers-those that ultimately controls us a society. As a consumerist society,I compare those that run our life to the substandard, junk they force on us - convincing us we want what we don't need. So, When life gives you lemons alter their DNA and make super lemons!!!
”life is a lemon and I want my money back”.
I know,I have two opinions, and that’s how life treats us.But,mostly we should try to make the best of a bad situation. Most bad situations can be turned into something valuable or even good with the right perspective - maybe it's just that you learned or grown from it or will be better able to handle a similar situation in the future. Although I will readily concede that some lemons are just too rotten to ever be able to squeeze anything drinkable out of.
So, When life gives you lemons suck out all of the vitamin C and yell “EAT THAT, LIFE!
Life’s a lemon,
ReplyDeleteIt’s a gift from heaven,
So value it my friend,
Or you’ll have the last place to stand.
I have done all those things,
That i wanted to do,
Yet I feel like a lion who has been trapped in a circus ring,
Whose roar is now no greater than a cat’s mew.
Add sugar to the sour lemon juice,
And you’ll enjoy it’s taste,
Do the same to your life by adding virtues,
And believe me, it’ll increase your stakes.
Cut open a lemon,
And you’ll see fringes in it,
The life’s too divided into such little demons,
The more diversified, the more you’ll enjoy it.
Squeeze the lemon to the maximum,
Lest you waste your money,
From your life don’t run,
Rather face it bravely honey.
Life’s a lemon & I want my money back,
Coz that’s what i’m here for, to extract things right from their core.......
