Reflections on the Global Financial Turbulence 2011
"Global activity has weakened and become more uneven, confidence has fallen sharply recently, and downside risks are growing." the IMF said as it cut its global growth forecast for both 2011 and 2012. Europe is wrestling with a debt crisis. Economic growth in powerhouse China appears to be slowing. And in the United States, political paralysis has left policymakers with few tools to fight a slowdown. Financial markets fear the worst. Pick a spot on the globe and you'll find economic trouble. It is therefore imperative to reflect on the underlying conditions and the causes and the impact of the changes in the global financial arena.

UID Project - Will it be as successful as anticipated?
UID project is a large scale project initiated in 2009 by the government of India aimed at provided a unique 12-digit number to all Indians. The UIDAI, which is responsible for implementing this, is chaired by Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys. The initial budget allocated for this is around 3000 crore.
The UID number (now AADHAR) will be stored in centralized database and will be linked to biometric data of individual. It is unique and robust enough to eliminate large number of duplicate and fake identities in government and private databases. The UIDAI is positive about it and expect that it would address issues such as illegal immigration and terrorist activities. But will it actually prove to be a grand success as anticipated?

Corruption: Is Lokpal Bill the answer?
Hardly any day passes without any news of corruption in India. The root of corruption lies in the inability of the political and administrative authorities to take appropriate action against it. What is Anna Hazare really campaigning for? To Indian citizens, his courageous display of moral outrage represents a crusade against corruption. This is a time when the ruling UPA Administration is beleaguered not only by the surfacing of a number of big-ticket scams but also by its inability to act firmly against the people seen to be the perpetrators.
So what are your views on this topic “Is Lokpal Bill the answer of Corruption”

Government Dilemma: Inflation Or Fiscal Deposit
With the increase in global crude prices which is circling around $ 96, there is a pressure on government to increase the price of diesel and LPG. The recent increase in the prices of diesel and LPG was done to give some relaxation to oil companies. From the past few months a debate is round the corner "should diesel be deregulated". If it is done now, it will act as support to the Inflation and if it is not Government will increase the Fiscal deficit.
So what's your view" Should government go for Inflation and deregulate Diesel or Increase Fiscal Deficit by not deregulating diesel, thereby going for a much higher inflation in future"
